Day 1

I'm exhausted today, but feeling good after my first day.

I had a big challenge on my first day too...I had totally forgotten that we had a business lunch scheduled today. I had brought my roll, tuna and salad and realised I was going to have to eat at a restaurant. We actually went to a pub that specialises in steak. Steak is one of my favourite meals particularly with chips or mashed potato. I sat at this table with 7 men who had these huge plates with steak and chips or mashed potato with very yummy looking sauces and I have to tell you it was very hard!! I had the fish of the day (funnily enough it was Tuna) and salad. They gave me two pieces of tuna, but I only ate one...that is a miracle I have to tell you! So although I would have rather have eaten the steak and chips, the tuna and salad was really quite delicious....

I had the dinner from Day 1 of my book...Stir-fry chicken, pumpkin and cashews with rice... Yum!!! I was not convinced that this was going to be nice, but I was pleasantly surprised...This one is definitely going down in my notes as a favourite recipe.

My best friend and I went for a 40 minute walk tonight too...

Water consumption has been pretty good too...Am pretty close to 2 litres I think.

I'm feeling really tired and my left foot is aching...I have this heel problem which is another reason why I'm determined to lose this weight. I have suffered from the most painful left heel for about 6 months now. It only hurts when I first wake up in the morning or if I've been walking or standing up a lot on it. I've been to the podiatrist about it and it is apparently a condition called "Plantar Fascitis". I had it years ago and it went away after I started to wear orthotics in my shoes. Apparently the way I was walking was causing the problem. Well the pain went away and I stopped wearing my orthotics. After a couple of years, the pain has come back again and this time the orthotics aren't helping. So I'm frustrated to the point of tears most days because it is so painful. No one has said it to me directly, but I know that the more weight I have on this heel, the worse it's going to be...So that's just another of the many, many reasons to lose this weight....

That's day 1 over with ....phew....
